About the Series

The London Chronicles transports readers to the heart of World War II Europe, from the grand stone corridors of a secret intelligence house west of London to the cobblestone streets of Prague as Nazi tanks roll in. These are stories of ordinary people making extraordinary choices: women who traded comfortable lives for dangerous ones, who kept secrets to protect the people they loved, and who found that faith and courage are most deeply forged in the darkest of times.

With the action set at the heart of the war, everyone in these pages is on high alert, and so are readers. Tricia Goyer, a USA Today bestselling author known for recreating historic wartime eras with precise detail through comprehensive research, brings the same meticulous craft and emotional depth to this duology that made her World War II fiction beloved by thousands. Each book stands on its own, but together they form a portrait of an era when the cost of love, loyalty, and faith was measured in lives.

For readers who love sweeping wartime romance, real history woven into gripping fiction, and heroines who refuse to look away from what is right... the London Chronicles was written for you.

Book 1: A Secret Courage

American Emma Hanson came to England to study at Oxford, but joined the Women's Auxiliary Air Force at the height of World War II. She is stationed at beautiful and historic Danesfield House west of London as part of the highly secretive Photographic Reconnaissance Unit.

Englishman Will Fleming is a handsome young artist commissioned by the British government to record the changing landscape in paintings. His path intersects with Emma's when his real mission, tracking Nazi spies, leads him to Danesfield House, the target of a sinister plot. Emma and Will become friends, each unaware of the other's true purpose. But in a world of classified missions and shifting loyalties, can trust survive? And can Will stop what is coming before it is too late?

Book 2: A Daring Escape

As the threat of World War II looms on the horizon, American Amity Mitchell is living a comfortable life abroad as a tutor in England. Life changes when an urgent telegram arrives from her brother, Andrew, summoning her to Prague. Nazi forces tighten their grip on the country, and Andrew's efforts to help Jewish children escape Czechoslovakia grow desperate. Children's lives hang in the balance, and Amity knows she cannot turn away from God's call to act.

Amity's boss, Clark, arrives in Prague urging her to return to safety. Soon he too finds himself helping prepare kindertransports bound for England. With the sound of German tanks rumbling over cobblestone streets, Amity and Clark race to save innocent lives. Will their prayers for deliverance be answered, and will they find their way to each other amid the chaos?

Both heartbreaking and inspiring in its account of a very challenging aspect of the war's history, A Daring Escape brings to life the rescue of Jewish children from Czechoslovakia to England as Hitler's forces overtook their homeland. While the characters and their stories are fictional, they are based on and inspired by the courageous actions of real people who were willing to sacrifice for the well-being of so many.
